I wanted to name this blog "When I grow up" because the impetus for writing a blog cam while trying to figure out what the hell I wanna do with my life(that name was taken). I have four wonderful kids, a strong support system, a job thats. ot making me a lot of money but i enjoy it, and a second chance at higher learning.

what I didnt have, at 35 years old, was the foggiest damned idea what i wanna do after I get this degree. Hell i dont know what degree Im after. I thought I wanna do something in radio broadcasting, but there isnt a lot of opportunity where I live, and radio is a dying medium. Anybody who knows me knows I have a passion for food and have talked a lot about being a chef, however ive worked in kitchens for a lot of years and I think like talk radio cooking is just a hobby not my future career.

so I thought what do you really want to do. The floodgates opened. I want to write a novel. I want to write a children's book. I want to review movies. i want to work reporting news for a big entertainment site. I want to write a play. I want to work from home so I can start a podcast. I want to go to fancy conventions and premieres with a press pass. So I did a google search "What kind of degree do you need to be a writer." The answer was none.

Ive been spending the last few days reading about what it takes to be a freelance writer, and while I certainly wont be making the kind of money, starting out, to just quit my job. I see all of my goals as attainable now. The first step to attaining my hopes and dreams is to start building a portfolio. A lot of peoples first step, in this day and age is is to start a blog, so here I am.

I named this blog after my favorite viral video "The Dark Knight Kills Christmas" or as I call it max as batman. It ends with Max's mother asking her little batman what he wants for dinner and the pint sized vigilante responding in his best Christian Bale Batman voice "Justice and a side of spaghetti." This blog is my first step towards the career I want with all my heart and getting there will be like a big helping of Justice with a side of spaghetti.
